Project OverviewThe EDCO Administrative Terminal would develop an approximately 103,000 square foot distressed property at the southwest corner of 27th Street & California Avenue in Signal Hill. The current overall site has twelve historic on site wells that are to be remediated by the project. Signal Hill Disposal (EDCO) has acquired rights to the property and proposes to construct a state of the art administrative terminal with office space, day-use and overnight truck parking, and a maintenance facility for refuse collection and transfer trucks servicing the new EDCO Recycling and Transfer Facility (ER&T), which is located approximately one block north of the project site and is currently under construction. In addition to customer service, administrative and maintenance functions, the new EDCO Administrative Terminal will also work in conjunction with ER&T to enhance overall logistics of collection operations. After final offloading at ER&T, collection trucks will be able to simply drive two blocks to the EDCO Administrative Terminal for overnight parking, rather than travel outbound through the City. The main entrance/exit for the facility is located on 27th Street, thus providing direct access to California Avenue on proceeding to either ER&T or on to collection routes. Though not anticipated, in the event the main gate area is inaccessible the site has an emergency secondary access to the south in which vehicles would maneuver to California Avenue. The site would provide significant offsite improvements, attractive landscaping and a block wall or wrought iron fencing surrounding the site. On site employee parking is designed to minimize impacts to the surrounding community. Other Benefits:
