Recyclables in cartBLUE is for Single-Stream Recycling

EDCO’s Single-Stream recycling program provides an easy way for residents to collect a large assortment of recyclable items, including:

  • mixed paper
  • newspaper
  • cardboard
  • steel/tin cans
  • aluminum cans
  • glass bottles and jars
  • plastic bottles, jugs and jars labeled Plastic Container Code 1 and Plastic Container Code 2
  • beverage containers labeled “CA Cash Refund” or “CA Redemption Value” (CRV)

Household recyclables should be placed directly into your BLUE automated container—collected all mixed together! (EDCO does the sorting for you.)

Please do not place recyclables into plastic bags, or place non-recyclable items into the blue container. Non-recyclable materials include:

  • Plastic bags (includes trash bags and grocery bags)
  • Non-CRV plastic containers labeled Plastic Container Code 3 through Plastic Container Code 7
  • Pyrex, ceramics, mirrors or window glass
  • Household trash (place in the GRAY container)
  • Yard waste (place in your green waste container)
  • Toxic items (batteries, paint, motor oil, etc.)

Set out your blue recycling container when full on the same day as rubbish collection.
