Automated Rubbish Collection

Use the black waste cart provided by EDCO to dispose of non-hazardous/non-recyclable household waste.

A rate discount is available for financially challenged seniors.

Set out waste and recycling containers prior to 6 a.m. on your service day.

Place automated carts in the street with the wheels against the curb. Arrows on the lid should point toward the street. Please be sure that cans are full and lids are closed to prevent spillage of trash and recyclables. Avoid placing carts next to obstructions, such as parked cars, utility poles, etc. Please be careful not to place carts in areas of traffic, such as bike lanes, in order to avoid blocking paths of travel.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding placement of your waste or recycling container, please contact our office and a customer service representative will be happy to assist you. (909) 877-1596.

Trash service in the City of Rialto is mandatory and EDCO Disposal is the only service provider approved by the City Council with an exclusive franchise. Requests for exemption from service should be made by calling the City's liaison at (909) 820-2525, extension 2211.

Trash and recycling must be put out only in the automated containers provided. If you have cardboard boxes, flatten and bundle. Place them next to your blue recycling barrel. Excess trash will only be picked up by prior arrangements with EDCO Disposal, and at an additional cost. Barrels shall not be put at the curb more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled trash day and must be removed no more than 12 hours after pick up. Extra barrels or pick-ups may be obtained by calling EDCO at (909) 877-1596.

When setting out waste and recycling carts for collection, always leave enough space so your postal carrier can access your mail box.

Windy Day Collections

Rialto is subject to Santa Ana winds. The weather conditions cause problems with the collection of trash and recyclables. Containers frequently tip over, causing spillage and materials get strewn throughout the streets and neighborhoods. In an effort to assist in the prevention of these situations, the following are suggestions from EDCO Disposal:

  • Bag and tie trash before placing in barrels — this will make cleanup efforts easier should the barrels blow over
  • Avoid placing trash and/or recycling out on windy days — If possible, do not set your trash and recyclables out for collection on a windy day. Bag any excessive trash and recyclables that will not fit in your barrel and EDCO will collect all accumulated bags along with your containers on your next scheduled collection day.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping your neighborhoods clean.

Holiday Collection Schedule

As a reminder, EDCO Disposal observes the following holidays:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
When any one of these holidays is observed on a weekday, collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day.
